2024 Update – Moved a few brands to metric sized sections where they should have been
You get a hold of a great power rack or squat rack, but then you find out that the company doesn’t make the attachments / accessories that you want.
No problem! You should be able to find a compatible attachment or accessory, as long as your rack is made with one of a few standard configurations.
Table of Contents
The 3 Compatibility Specs
The key specs are:
The tubing size of the uprights, as above, typically one of: 2″x2″, 2″x3″, or 3″x3″.
Racks made in China usually use metric sizing. This applies to a lot of brands featured here. They don’t advertise the fact, and you would have to ask them or run into the problem yourself. The tables they are organized in identify them as such.
The hardware/peg diameter that fits into the holes in the uprights, as above. Varies from 1/2″ to 1″. Going by the peg diameter is more consistent across brands than the hole size that is cut somewhat larger than the peg.
The hole spacing in the uprights, ie: the distance between holes on center, as above. This is only applicable for attachments that use 2 holes, the second using a locking pin.
2″ spacing is becoming the standard. Some racks have Westside spacing, which is 1″ spacing at a certain height range for setting bench press safety bars just right, and otherwise 2″ spacing above and below that.
When Slightly Wrong Sized Attachments are Ok
An attachment can fit in a larger hole than it’s made for, but it will be able to wiggle and maybe tip down a little, depending on the snugness of the bracket that goes over the tubing.
Similarly, attachment brackets can fit onto slightly smaller tubing than what they were designed for. This can be less bad than the wrong peg size, because you can glue shims (UHMW plastic or wood) to the inside of the attachment’s bracket to make it fit. Some attachments work well enough even if they’re loose. Some don’t have enough pressure put on them to be a safety issue, like a battle rope anchor, but it could still rattle.
Lastly, the steel gauge (wall thickness) of rack tubing does not factor into compatibility. The tubes are fabricated to an outside diameter spec.
For fitting 3×3 attachments onto 2×3 tubing, or 2×3 attachments onto 2×2 tubing, an Etsy seller is making these adapters to fill the void in the bracket.
When You Should Not Use the Wrong Sized Attachments
I don’t recommend you use load-bearing attachments that don’t fit quite right, such as J-hooks, steel safety arms, or plate holders, unless you have a good way of retrofitting it to be snug enough. Use some common sense, visualize it, and you’ll get the idea.
Attachments Using 2 Holes
In many cases attachments that use a locking pin to secure the attachment into a second hole on the rack’s upright won’t line up the same on all racks. Normally this is the difference in metric and imperial (inches) hole spacing. As much as you want it to work, under most circumstances you won’t get the locking pin in. The offset starts at 1/16″ per hole and widens cumulatively.
If you’re thinking of foregoing the locking pin or buying a thinner one, and you have to ask for confirmation on whether it’s safe, you probably shouldn’t do it.
List of Power Rack Attachments by Size
Rogue has among the best and most consistent quality. Cheap Amazon-only brands, which I don’t like to list unless there are no other options, are the worst and might be unsafe. Most other brands are somewhere in the middle or sometimes as good as Rogue.
Not listed here are complex attachments and accessories that will not fit any other racks, such as those that mount on the top or bottom crossmembers or need the rack to be a specific width between uprights. Examples are special pull up bars or rack extensions.

3×3 Tubing, 3/4″ Pegs
American Barbell power racks, EliteFTS Collegiate / R3
See the 3×3, 5/8″ section above for more attachments that will fit these racks well enough.
75x75mm Tubing, 25mm Pegs
Titan’s TITAN Series, Rep Fitness PR-5000, Vulcan Strength Racks (except Flat Base Power Rack), Griffin Fitness GR3, Giant Lifting 3X Series, Fringe Sport Osprey Power Cage, Fray Fitness Savage Series, Get Rx’d Goliath rack
Slightly smaller than 3″x3″, and pegs slightly smaller than 1″. Generally compatible with 3×3 racks. The attachments here with a locking pin using a second hole, such as spotter arms, can even sometimes fully fit on 3×3 racks because the smaller peg size somewhat makes the attachment drop a little lower and reach the slightly wider spaced hole to lock into.
There have been reports of Titan’s all-steel J-cups and UHMW-lined J-cups not fitting over 3×3 tubing.
3×3 Tubing, 1″ Pegs
Rogue Monster, Ethos Power Rack 1.0, Amstaff 370, Fringe 3×3 rig, Valor rig, Legend Fitness Performance Series, EliteFTS Scholastic Half Racks / Garage Power Racks, Sorinex XL Series, Bells of Steel Manticore, Bolt Fitness Storm Series, PRx Pro, Prime Prodigy, eliteFTS Quick Ship Power Rack, Inspire Fitness FPC1, Stray Dog Strength, Oak Club Manufacturing, Irwin Fitness
Universal Fit Attachments
For a high and low cable system that works on almost any power rack, see the Spud Inc Pulley System shown above.
If you only need a high pulley (for lat pulldowns and tricep pushdowns), see Giant Lifting’s pulley system for a much lower price.
This Rep Fitness dip attachment above fits on almost any rack with 1″ round safety bars (thanks Anthony!). The rack needs to have at least 21″ depth between the front and back uprights, which is the case for all freestanding racks and most floor-mounted racks except the most shallow ones. The rack’s hole spacing does not matter, as the bottom part of the attachment simply rests against wherever the lower safety bar is.
There are a couple solutions for power rack strap safeties if you can’t find a match. If you can get a brand of them with brackets that fit your rack but the straps are the wrong length, get two 2″ Stren-Flex slings of the right length to replace them with. They are extremely strong, with pertinent info labeled and a chart on that webpage with the pound ratings.
Your second option is a pair of Spud Inc suspension straps that hang off your rack’s top crossmembers.
Rear Rack Extension and Foot Stabilizer Fit
Multiple questions on this in the comments prompted me to add this section.
You generally can’t add a rear rack extension – usually to accommodate weight plate storage – made for a different brand. The height of the holes off the floor and the rack width would have to be precisely the same.
Similarly, with extension feet meant to stabilize a rack, even if the tubing size and peg size are a match, the holes would have to be precisely the same height off the floor, or they would float and defeat the purpose.
I have heard reports of people using these across brands, but in every case it seems the user made some modifications to make it work. If you found a case where they are perfectly compatible, please leave a comment!
General Recommendations
For the best compatibility going forward, I highly recommend getting a 3×3 rack taking 5/8″ pegs (Rogue Monster Lite compatible) or 1″ pegs (Rogue Monster compatible). Even you never buy a Rogue product, they lead the way in things like this.
Rogue appears to be in the beginning stages of abandoning their 2×3 racks in favor of 3×3. Other manufacturers have noticed and likely will follow suit. This doesn’t mean that nobody will make racks with 2×2 or 2×3 tubing. I believe that there will be a market for those lighter and cheaper racks for a long time, and they are not necessarily bad racks. The 3×3 attachments sell much better and are more numerous, because people who spend the extra money for a 3×3 rack are more likely to soup it up.
You might want to steer clear of racks that have metric sized tubing. That said, many people know what they’re getting into and choose to buy those.
hello… my school recently purchased about 80K in weight room double half racks and storage, plus weights from Perform Better.. It is advertised as their Signature Series (PB Extreme).. The racks are 3×3 with 1″ holes… no Westside spacing in the bench area. I am wondering if anyone has experience with this product and possible compatibility of attachments.. This brand is not what we wanted and inferior to Rogue for sure.. Jcups are not secure to rack, spotter arms move due to poor tolerances, Landmine bolted to rack, etc… Trying to make the situation better with better attachments.. any help would be great
I wonder where a 3×3 GetRxd Builder Rack fits into this mix? It is not domestic, I do know that.
I have a Rogue Infinity R3 rack with Adjustable Monolift. Maybe that monolift is no longer available, but it would help to list it like “no longer manufactured”. People might be on the lookout for a used one.
I see. I want to avoid making the page longer with clutter, but I could add a note that Rogue has discontinued some Infinity attachments such as the monolift and a few others. I’ll see if I can determine what is discontinued. Some later stuff might not have ever been made for Infinity. Kinda hard to find what’s *not* there!
What about 3*3 with a 1.25 inch hole? I just scored a deal on an old perfect condition body-fit 378. Am I just out of luck for load bearing attachments? I’d like straps and more modern j-hooks.
I bet there’s some kind of sleeves out there that you can cut to size and slip over the pegs to make them fit in those holes better. I don’t know where or what material you might get away with using.
These are some Rogue weight posts that I put on my Ethos Rack the 3X3 upright rack
That’s great. I think with attachments like that using some adjacent holes the difference with metric and imperial hole spacing won’t be too much.
Great job on the list really helps a lot.
Thank you for this list, I am starting to window shop for a power rack and undecided on rogue or ethos so it is nice to have a list for attachments that work with the ethos cages if I decide to go that route.
Has anyone used TITAN Series Dumbbell Holders on a Rogue Monster rack? Do they fit properly?
They work great on my Rep PR-5000, just sayin’.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned it or not, but the Titan “TITAN” series rack mounted leg curl and extension attachment bolts up perfectly to a REP PR-5000. If you mount it such that the attachment’s plate peg (where you add weight plates) faces the inside of the rack AND you have the REP lat/low-row cable system, you can ratchet strap the cable to the Titan plate peg and have continuous tension that starts at the bottom of the movement. Plate loaded leg extension machines have very little resistance at the bottom, but connecting it to a cable overcomes this problem.
Can you post a picture of this setup? I have a PR-5000 and was considering getting the Titan series leg curl/extension machine but was having trouble figuring out if it will fit.
Looks like I can only include one pic. Pardon the mess. My gym became my family’s storage area when I went down with an injury. Mine bolted up perfectly, although there wasn’t much room to spare regarding the screw-in pins that attach the leg extension to the back side of the rack frame (they don’t actually attach anything, just extra insurance to help hold it in place). I also used an extra Rep bolt to replace the main pin provided by Titan as I’m not removing the leg extension attachment. One consideration is the weight peg on the Titan attachment: It’s not quite long enough to be perfectly straight out from the low row pulley. So, there’s a chance that prolonged use will result in premature cable failure. My personal plan is to cut off the weight peg on the leg extension attachment and fab up something longer that’s removable. Not everyone has the tools for that, so maybe another option would be to slide a longer pole over the existing weight peg, which would overcome the slightly bad angle and allow the cable to freely move through the pulley. Would just need to either drill a hole so you could pin the pole in place while in use, or clamp it down somehow. Or just use weights as Titan intended haha. There is barely any resistance at the bottom though with weights.
hi – body solid gpr 400 rack is actually 11/16″ holes – from BS rep because i was looking to marry up some Titan X3 attachments. going to see if i can cobble together the gor400 and an X 3 extension too
But are the holes 11/16″ or the pegs? I try to put everything as the peg size. The holes are typically about 1/16″ larger to accommodate.
I own the GPR400 the titan X-3 attachments fit perfectly.
For the discussion, the Fringe Sport Osprey 3×3 power rack is 75x75mm. I learned this after reaching out to their support.
Anyone know if the MONSTER SINGLE POST STORAGE SHELF fits the ethos 1.0?
I really need some type of attatchment to hold down my legs with the titan T3 lat pulldown. Titan rep gave bad info, causing me to purchase a product that does not fit T3. Can’t seem to find what I’m looking for….
Quick question – will the Amstaff J-hooks fit on a Rogue Monster Rack?
https://www.fitnessavenue.ca/products/j-hooks-2-0-set
Link is above – they claim it fits 3×3 with a 1″ hole, but I am a bit suspect.
Thanks.
David this is an amazing list that I will be sharing with my friends thank you. As for me, I own a Hammer Strength HD Elite rack and I can not find anything that is cross compatible with my rack. I’ve reached out to Life Fitness but their estimates were insane (over $1300 for attachments on a rack that only cost me $1000).
Do you have any insight on this?
They have a design that uses special holes on the sides of the uprights, but most brands just use the front-back facing holes for most attachments. From pics I bet it’s either 3×3″ with 5/8″ holes front and back, or if Chinese made it’s likely slightly smaller, 75x75mm with 16mm holes. Either way, compatible with some others here. I haven’t confirmed this so haven’t added it to the list.
I’ll make sure to accurately measure all I can and get it back to you, I have experience measuring items for QC down to +/-0.2mm so the numbers should be accurate.
David, here’s what I came up with. Thanks again for your help with this. Let me know if something isn’t clear in the photo.
Uprights: 4 15/16”x3”
Hole spacing: 3.5”
“Diameter”: 1 1/16”
Ok, that’s different than what I saw online. That’s huge tubing that isn’t compatible with anything I’ve seen. It’s like with anything, once you get locked into a proprietary design you’re stuck buying parts at a premium.
Not sure if this makes a difference or not but the 4 15/16” number was a typo, should’ve been 3 15/16”. Sorry about that!
That looks better… But still too big to fit anything unfortunately!
This is a phenomenal list!
Anybody happen to know of a safety strap system/attachment for tubing size of 50mm x 70mm (2″ x 2.75″)?
it seems many racks on Amazon have this tubing size which feels unique and more niche. So far, it’s been challenging finding more attachments that fit this specific dimension.
Thank you for this list. I live in Japan and the price of name-brand equipment here is exorbitant. I found the Inspire FPC1 at Costco here for a fraction of the cost and have decided to buy it. It doesn’t have plate holders but I gather I can use the ones from Rogue or even REP and Titan as long as they are not the double-pin type. My main gripe though is that there is no high/low pulley option. Can anyone tell me what option from another maker would be best for an Inspire rack? Thank you in advance.
just looking at the pics, it seems to be a 11-gauge, 3×3 rack with 1-inch holes. regarding plate holders, the REP plate holders I have utilize two bolts (if that’s what you are referring to for ‘double-pin’. a hi/low pulley is going to be tricky. if you have room, i would consider a separate pull-down to avoid things not working out correctly. I have a plate-loaded one from xmark and it works great.
Thanks for the reply. As I said, I’m in Japan, so there is no Xmark over here, although they all come from China and I know several suppliers. I was going to go for an Irotec set, but then I found this deal on an Inspire still in its box at a thrift shop for $300. I can’t say no to that!
Thinking this might fit: https://www.titan.fitness/racks/rack-accessories/t-3-series/t-3-series-complete-pulley-package/400068.html
ok, that’s a little different than what i was imagining lol. that specific setup doesn’t look like 1″ holes and it’s for 2×3 cross-members, but assuming they have an equivalent config for a 3×3 rack, i would verify whether you actually have a 3×3 rack (i.e., rogue-type rack) or if it’s a metric equivalent (i.e., titan/rep-type rack). if you have a true 3×3 rack, i would probably get something like the rogue slinger. https://www.roguefitness.com/rogue-monster-slinger.
Thanks for the input, Chris. The Sliger looks good, but overpriced for what it is. I think I’m just going to make my own with materials from the hardware store.
I have an Inspire fpc1 rack and just ordered the surplus strength UPS. I also added the Titan 4 pack of plate holders that fit their T3/X3 rack
Is this what you ordered : UPS High (Universal Pulley System) ? It also has a few add ons . Did you need to buy any of those to work with the Inspire fpc1 rack ? I have the Inspire fpc1 rack as well . What RACK HEIGHT did you tell them ?
Does it work well with the Inspire fpc1 rack?
Hi Paddy, I got the UPS High and the weight plate holder. I measured from the ground to the top of my rack. It is a tight fit with the rack. I removed the band pegs at the top of my rack and had to buy longer thinner bolts to make it fit. Its a pain in the butt honestly. But because I am limited in space, its the only option for me. So i have to make it work. My workouts basically beat the crap out of me, with having to adjust weight, and making sure the attachments don’t fall on my head. I am tall, so everything is difficult in the home gym space lol. I hope this helps.
thanks!
Curious if anyone has the lowdown on the Titan T3 or X3 Series Rack Mounted Leg Curl And Extension and compatibility with the Rogue Lite wall mount?
Hi, would you be able to tell me if the MuscleD Power cage (https://www.muscledfitness.com/power-cage-2 )can be used with any other j hooks? the cage has metal covering on the rack, the website says its 3×3 7 gauge metal tubing.I need j hooks that are flatter these are too deep. Thank you
David, this is an awesome website. Thank you for this, have purchased some awesome attachments for my ETHOS 1.0 using your list. I do have one question…will these fit onto the ETHOS 1.0 PowerRack?
https://www.titan.fitness/racks/rack-accessories/titan-series/titan-series-vertical-barbell-holders/400549.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjwtamlBhD3ARIsAARoaEyFhrbcePj5DtHKdq5umIafcnPrHCJ2fK9CjbMOcW_9DsYf-IEvytoaAuazEALw_wcB
It’s unlikely the metric spaced holes will line up right, unless the Ethos is made to metric specs too?
Did you ever purchase these? If so, did they work/fit?
This is my ethos. with titan bar holder.
I have the Titan T-3 I bought the Rogue Matador and Rogue Landmine (because of a previous version of this list) and both fit perfect. Not sure why the list was changed.
This is an excellent list. Thank you for this.
I think this is an excellent list but I think it’s worthy to include the Northern Lights brand of racks here if Amazon racks are included. They’re a popular brand up here in Canada due to high shipping costs (or inability to ship at all) to Rep/Titan/Rogue/etc. and I have their crossbox rack which is 2×3 & 5/8 (not sure if Imperial or Metric) and they have attachments like monolifts for the 2×3 5/8 footprint at a cheaper price (at least converting retail price from CAD to USD). I think they also have distribution in the US but I’m not sure about that.
Hello David! Great list! One correction: in the 3″ x 3″ section, the Giant Lifting 3x series power rack is also a 75mm box tubing, not true 3″. I emailed their customer service and they confirmed.
It would be useful to split the 3″ section into true 3″ and into 75mm sections!
Thanks, I’ll get that corrected!
I might take your suggestion and separate out the metric and imperial sizes into their own sections. I had them separated out like that at one point. I started combining them again with the idea that it might be more helpful because most (but not all) attachments fit well enough either direction to be usable. But of course there’s the 60mm ones that are nowhere near any imperial size, so maybe it makes more sense to be precise with all of them.
Interesting, this is a tough choice for me, it’s real frustrating that marketing copy that says 3″ with 2″ spacing is often incorrect, especially on racks that are so highly publicized like the REP and Titan racks. On the other hand, with one-peg utilities fitting on both, that’s real useful to know.
I wish people would standardize on the 3″ steel and have that be! I assume the problem is that overseas supply chain will provide cheap 75mm box steel tubing, while a 3″ box steel is a speciality item in europe and china?
Thanks for this incredible website BTW!
I guess the metric is either cost related or more common in Chinese factories. Then the US companies get sunk costs before they measure it and find out 3″ is nominal.
there’s exactly three countries still using imperial measures: the US, liberia, and myanmar. I’m guessing most people can’t find the latter two on a map and they don’t export anything of consequence, so it’s basically just the US. i suppose China could equip themselves with the necessary tooling, software tools, engineering models, and all of the associated supply chain requirements just to keep us happy, but it’s just not cost-effective or practical for most things. Global supply chains are forcing one industry after another to convert. You don’t have 1/4 bolts on your car anymore and you don’t have a 302 cubic inch engine. Rogue still makes much of their stuff in the US, so they can keep this up for the near term. I wonder how many KG sets of plates Rogue and Rep sell here in the US…
I am looking for a 43 inch cross member with 5/8 holes on inch centers, is there such a beast?
Will the Athena Cable system fit any other rack system, such as the Bells of Steel Hydra rack?
It looks cool, doesn’t it. I’m going to have to look into this. I bet there are people who have tried rigging it to other racks.
Are these actually tested or just based on measurements? I’m curious about the Titan Series Adjustable Lever Arms on a PRx Profile Pro. I recently got some Hulkfit lever arms that are 3×3 with 1″ peg thinking it would fit. Unfortunately, it seems like the powder coating on the PRx is pretty thick and makes it slightly over 3×3, while the Hulkfit arms’ bracket is pretty exactly 3×3. Worried about the same outcome with the Titan lever arms and have heard they have a pretty hefty restocking fee, so hesitant to test it out.
